On Wednesday, YFN Lucci became the subject of a wild social media rumor falsely claiming he had been killed in prison. However, TMZ contacted Lucci’s attorney, Drew Findling, who confirmed that the rapper is alive and well.
The rumor appeared to stem from the recent death of Rich Homie Quan, a former labelmate of YFN Lucci, and quickly spread as fans shared the unverified information from unreliable sources.
Lucci is currently serving a 10-year sentence after pleading guilty to charges under the Street Gang and Terrorism Prevention Act. His legal team, however, is actively working on securing his early release.
In July, the Fulton County District Attorney submitted a letter to the Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles, supporting Lucci’s early release. Findling explained that this letter strengthens their case, calling it a crucial element in their argument for his freedom.
