Sean 'Diddy' Combs arrested in New York City

Embattled hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs has been arrested in New York City on unspecified federal charges, according to prosecutors. The arrest, which took place in Manhattan, follows raids on two of his properties in Los Angeles and Miami in March, as part of an "ongoing investigation" into sex trafficking.

Combs's lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, expressed disappointment over the decision, calling it an "unjust prosecution" and asserting that Combs is an "innocent man." The music mogul has recently faced a series of allegations, ranging from sexual assault to abuse, including claims made by his ex-partner, Casandra "Cassie" Ventura. Combs has denied all accusations.

According to law enforcement sources, the arrest is connected to an investigation by US Homeland Security officials. US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Damian Williams, confirmed Combs's arrest in a statement, citing a sealed indictment that is expected to be revealed on Tuesday.

In addition to federal charges, Combs faces several civil lawsuits, including accusations of rape, sex trafficking, and abuse. One of the lawsuits was filed by Ventura in November 2023, and others soon followed. These claims, many of which surfaced before the expiration of the New York Adult Survivors Act, have been firmly denied by Combs, whose spokesperson previously dismissed the lawsuits as a "money grab."

Despite the legal challenges, Combs’s attorney reiterated the mogul's desire to clear his name in court, emphasizing his legacy as a music icon, entrepreneur, and philanthropist.
