The chief adviser presented the book on graffiti art to U.S. officials.

The Chief Advisor of the Interim Government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, presented a vibrant art book featuring graffiti created on the capital’s walls during the anti-discrimination student movement to the visiting U.S. delegation in Bangladesh. This gesture took place on Sunday at the State Guest House Jamuna in Dhaka.

Upon assuming office, Dr. Yunus commissioned the publication of this art book, which showcases some of the most impactful graffiti painted by young students in Dhaka and other cities during the student-led protests last July and August.

During the meeting, Dr. Yunus explained the historical importance of the graffiti to the U.S. delegation. He described the artwork as a vivid representation of the students’ demands, emotions, hopes, and resistance against the oppressive regime of dictator Sheikh Hasina.

Dr. Yunus also invited the delegation to visit Dhaka to view the graffiti in person, noting that these artworks continue to adorn the city’s walls, symbolizing the students' defiance against government forces during and after the revolution.

The U.S. delegation was led by Brent Neiman, Assistant Under Secretary for International Finance at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The group included Donald Lu, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia; Brendan Lynch, U.S. Assistant Trade Representative; Anjali Kaur, USAID Deputy Assistant Administrator; and Jared Mason, Director at the U.S. Treasury Department.
