"Heartbreaking News About Angelina Jolie: Recent Reports Confirm..."

Angelina Jolie, an Academy Award-winning actress, gained worldwide recognition through her standout role in Girl, Interrupted (1999), followed by iconic performances in the Lara Croft films, Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005), Wanted (2008), Salt (2010), and Maleficent (2014). Off-screen, Jolie is known for her humanitarian work, particularly with refugees. She often appears on “most beautiful women” lists, while her personal life is closely followed by the media.

Born Angelina Jolie Voight in Los Angeles, California, she inherited her passion for acting from her parents, Jon Voight, an Oscar-winner, and Marcheline Bertrand, a Strasberg-trained actress. With a diverse heritage—German and Slovak from her father’s side, and French-Canadian, Dutch, Polish, and Huron from her mother’s—Jolie began studying acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute at 11. She later attended New York University and joined the Met Theatre Group in Los Angeles. At 16, Jolie pursued modeling and appeared in various music videos.

In 2006, Jolie and Brad Pitt announced they were expecting their first child, Shiloh, born that May. They also adopted a Vietnamese boy, Pax, and later expanded their family to six children. The couple married in 2014 and divorced in 2019, continuing their work in film and humanitarian causes. In recognition of her contributions to UK foreign policy and efforts to end sexual violence in conflict zones, she was appointed Honorary Dame Commander of the Order of St. Michael and St. George in 2014.

Jolie made headlines in 2013 when she underwent a preventive double mastectomy at age 37 after discovering her 87% risk of developing breast cancer due to a BRCA1 gene mutation. This decision came after her mother, grandmother, and aunt all faced cancer battles. Jolie's mastectomy reduced her risk to under 5%, and she followed it with reconstructive surgery. Two years later, in 2015, Jolie underwent a preventive salpingo-oophorectomy due to a high risk of ovarian cancer, which triggered early menopause despite hormone replacement therapy.

Jolie shared her health journey in The New York Times, empowering women to make informed health decisions. She emphasized that her preventive surgeries were for her children’s sake and expressed that the choices made her feel stronger and did not diminish her femininity.
